Tower Building

-Objective:

A relay to get noodlettes (or pieces of pool noodle) and build the highest free-standing tower possible

Heading 1

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Locomotor 

  • Run

-Equipment List:

  • Two half-length pool noodles per team.

  • Many (maybe 50) noodlettes or cut up pool-noodle pucks.

-Setting Up:

  • Set up teams of 3-5 players per team at a starting line.

  • Give each team two half-length pool noodles.

  • Place 50 noddlettes 10-20 paces away from the start line.

-Instructions:

  • At the signal to begin pairs of players run to the pile of noodlettes and pick up, between two pool noodles, one to two noodlettes and return it to their team.

  • When the noodlette is returned, the pool noodles are given two new players to pick up another foam piece.

  • As the pieces are picked up teams can building their tower. When all pieces have been picked up give the teams 30-60 seconds to complete their tower.
