For the player that is IT to tag another player.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

-Equipment List:

  • One basketball per player

  • One pool noodle for each IT

-Setting Up:

  • Place players inside a defined area (half a basketball court, or larger if there are more people).

-Instructions:

  • Assign one player to be IT--more if there are more players.

  • At the signal to start everyone dribbles a ball in the designated area and the IT tries to tag another player with a pool-noodle they are holding.

  • When a player is tagged he gets the pool-noodle and tries to tag another player.

  • If a player being chased loses their ball they become the next IT.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Safety considerations:

    • The IT can only tag players between the shoulders and butt area. 

  • Instructional tips:

    • For added running designate several ITs.

  • As a cool-down:

    • Works well as a cool-down especially if only 1 IT is designated.
