Have a pair of competitors flip a towel with a rubber chicken on it and see how far they can flip the chicken.

    • Throw

-Equipment List:

  • One rubber chicken and one towel for two players to use. Can take turns with equipment.

-Setting Up:

  • Identify a restraining line from which the competitors must stay behind on their throw.

  • Have 2 players hold a towel with a rubber chicken on it (or any other plastic, rubber, or cloth animal).

-Instructions:

  • Have a pair of competitors flip a towel with a rubber chicken on it and see how far they can flip the chicken.

  • Mark the longest throw.

  • The pair that sends the chicken the furthest is the winner.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Variation

    • Catch the Chicken.

      • See how far students can flip a chicken and have another pair catch it. Another variation is to see how far away 2 pairs can be, each simultaneously throwing a chicken and each successfully catching the other pair’s chicken.

  • Question for Understanding:

    • What increases success in throwing far?

    • What increases success in throwing accurately?
