-Setting Up:

  • Using a basketball court place both team's Balance Buster goals in kitty-corner quadrants half ways between the centre line and the end line.

  • Players are divided into two team's and stand in of two of their team's quadrants each holding their paddle.

  • Four players from each team are given a foam ball--these players are the only ones that can hold the foam balls and they do not hold a paddle.

  • Place all the Balance Buster balls along the centre lines of the playing area.

-Instructions:

  • On the leader's signal to begin players with paddles pick up a ball (players may only use their paddles so some teamwork might be helpful).

  • Once a ball is on a player's paddle the player runs to one of their goals and, without the use of their hands or any other part of their body, places the ball on their goal. If at any time the ball falls off the paddle, the players immediately pick up the ball and place it on the centre line. Players who place a ball on the line cannot play that ball.

  • The eight players assigned to play the eight foam balls can only ever hold one ball at a time. These players can move anywhere on the court but can only throw at an opposition player or the opposition goal from their own half.

  • If players who are carrying a ball get hit with a foam ball, those players must pick up the ball with their hand, bring the ball to centre, and attempt to pick up another ball with their paddle.

  • If a foam ball hits the goal and knocks off some balls a player(s) must pick up all the balls and place them on the centre line.

  • Players may protect their goal and themselves by blocking a thrown foam ball with their paddle, however, if the ball hits one of these "goalies" the goalie must immediately take a ball off their goal and deposit it on the centre line.

  • Play till one team has 2-3 red balls (a total of 5), 2-3 blue balls (A total of 5) and five green balls on each goal (A total of 10).

-Questions & Notes:

Variation:

  • Play for a pre-determined time limit and score the balls as follows:

  • 1 point for each red

  • 2 points for each blue

  • 3 points for each green
