Teams attempt to score more runs by answering more math problems.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Locomotor

    • Run

-Equipment List:

  • Four poly spots for bases per game

-Setting Up:

  • Prepare a baseball diamond. The further apart the bases the more players need to move.

  • Assign teams of 5-6 players.

  • One team stands on one side of home base and the other team stands on the other side of home base.

-Instructions:

  • The first two players from each team stand opposite each other at home base.

  • The leader calls out a math problem.

  • The first player to answer correctly goes to home base, the other player goes to the back of their line.

  • State the next problem quickly.

  • When a player's teammate advances to the base they are standing on the player advances to the next base.

  • When a player crosses home plate that team scores a run.

  • What makes answering a mathematics problem quickly so difficult?

  • What makes solving it easier?
