Ostrich Tag

-Objective:

Heading 1

For players to stay safe being tagged by doing an Ostrich pose.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Locomotor

  • Balance

  • Hopping

-Equipment List:

  • One half-length pool noodle per IT

-Setting Up:

  • Players are in a scattered position in the playing area.

  • One in ten or so players are IT and are given a half-length pool noodle with which to tag other players.

-Instructions:

  • On the signal to begin the ITs try to tag other players. 

  • All players move about the playing area by hopping.

  • If a tag is successful the the IT and the tagged player switch roles.

  • To be safe from being tagged, players must stand in a blanced position on one foot, with the other foot over the other knee held by the opposite hand, and the other hand holds the player's nose.

  • How can the not-ITs most effectively avoid being tagged?
