Mouse Gets The Cheese

For the mouse to get the cheese without getting tagged by the cat.

Two gymnastic mats and two bean bags per pair of players.

Place two mats on end creating parallel walls about 1.5 paces apart.

Place a bean bag in a line between the middle of the mats but about two metres from the end of each mat.
-
The cat stands behind one wall and the mouse stands behind the other.
-Instructions:
-
On the signal to begin the mouse attempts to trick the cat as to the direction she plans to go and gets the cheese before the cat can tag her--Cat and mouse always have their heads visible to the other
-
If the cat fears she might get tagged she can retreat to safety behind her mat or she can run between the mats and retrieve the cheese at the other end.

Each successful capture of a cheese counts for one point. When a mouse is tagged before getting a cheese the mouse and cat switch roles.

Variation:

Stay hidden:
-
The cat and mouse can stay hidden from each other by staying lower than the height of the mats.
-
Place the cheeses another step or two further.
-
The cat and mouse can go in their area and the middle area but cannot go in the other's side of the mat.

The cat cannot reach over the mat to tag the mouse.
